I recently saw the mission statement for a technology company that said “We are attempting to be the leaders in technology…” This line has been rattling in my brain for the last few days. Why? Because I loathe the word “attempt”. “Attempt” to me is phoning it in, because you don’t have the conviction to win, or in your heart you have already decided you probably won’t win.   In order to win, you must decide how it is going to play out before you even start, and you better focus on winning, or don’t bother.

So, we have decided. We are in it to win…#$%& attempting. How’s that for attitude??
